Interrupted Compassion

On the road out of Jericho, a blind beggar cried for mercy while the crowd tried to silence him. Then Mark records four life-changing words: “And Jesus stopped.” In Week 2 of Interrupted, we discover that Bartimaeus was not a distraction from Jesus’ mission, he was part of the mission. This message from Mark 10:46–52 challenges us to recognize the people we overlook, stop with Christlike compassion, listen before assuming, and help others rise and follow Jesus. Who have we been treating as an interruption when God may be placing them in our path as a divine assignment?
