On the road out of Jericho, a blind beggar cried for mercy while the crowd tried to silence him. Then Mark records four life-changing words: “And Jesus stopped.” In Week 2 of Interrupted, we discover that Bartimaeus was not a distraction from Jesus’ mission, he was part of the mission. This message from Mark 10:46–52 challenges us to recognize the people we overlook, stop with Christlike compassion, listen before assuming, and help others rise and follow Jesus.
